BEGINNER INSTRUCTION & PRACTICE
Class will be held on Saturdays from 10:00 am – 10:30 am or Tuesdays from 5:30pm – 6:00pm for five consecutive weeks.
Level 1 ~ Introductory Skate
- Get up Safely from the floor
- Balancing on one foot
- March in place, march while walking and march while rolling a short distance
- Cannon ball or tea pot
- Starting and stopping
- Basic forward skating
Level 2 ~ Novice
- Forward and backward skating
- Balancing on one foot in multiple positions
- Kangaroo hop, teapot and shoot the duck
- Push onto one foot from T position, right and left foot.
- Cross front, right skate over the left while skating counterclockwise circle
Level 3 ~ Intermediate Tuesdays 5:00 – 5:30pm
- Forward edges: outside, inside, left foot and right foot
- Backward scissors for momentum, to a backward two foot roll in “and” position
- Backward stopping
- Backward one foot roll with free foot balanced in front. Right and left.
- Turning backwards to forward and forward to backwards.
Level 4 ~ Advanced Skaters Tuesdays 5:00 – 5:30pm
- Backward one foot scooter pushes in a circle. Clockwise and counterclockwise
- Spread eagle, clockwise and counterclockwise
- Backward outside and inside edges, right and left
- Cross behind while skating a forward circle, clockwise and counterclockwise
- Forward outside three turn, right and left.
** Skaters will be promoted to next level at teachers discretion. Students generally take each Level 2 to 4 times before moving to next level.
These classes are taught as a group lesson by highly qualified professional skating instructors.

- Fees are based on a five-week Learn to Skate Session. Fee includes roller skate or roller blade rental.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Skater must have good balance and be able to cross over on turns.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Helmet and your own inline skates (limited inline rentals available).
Class will be held on Thursday from 5:00pm – 6:00pm. Only class members who are enrolled in the Inline Speed Skating Class are allowed to have roller blades on during the lesson time. Please call before your first visit to verify time.
CLASS ADVANCEMENT
Skaters are evaluated by the instructor to determine if their skills have developed enough to join the SS Racing Inline Speed Team based out of Skatin Station in Canton.
FEES
Fees are based on a five-week Inline Speed Skating Session. Class sessions are listed on the back. Fee includes roller blade rental. There are no make up classes and no refunds will be given.
